Block Paved Patio & New Turf in Dartford

This project in Dartford involved the transformation of a garden space with the installation of a brand-new block paved patio alongside fresh turfing to create a clean, usable and low-maintenance outdoor area.

Project Details

Excavation & Ground Preparation

The project began with the removal of the existing surface and excavation of the designated patio and lawn areas. All loose soil, debris and uneven ground were cleared to ensure a stable base.

The ground was then carefully levelled and shaped, with attention paid to achieving the correct levels between the patio and surrounding garden. This step is essential to avoid water pooling and to ensure a smooth transition between surfaces.

A solid sub-base was installed using MOT Type 1 aggregate and compacted thoroughly to provide a strong and reliable foundation for the block paving.

Edging & Patio Installation

To define the patio area and retain the structure, durable block edging was installed around the perimeter. This not only keeps the paving secure but also creates a clean and professional border between the patio and lawn.

Once the edging was in place, a sharp sand bedding layer was applied and screeded to achieve a perfectly level surface.
