We have recently finished this porcelain patio job in Dartford. It has completely transformed an old and worn-out garden area into a new, clean, and modern space ideal for relaxation and entertainment.
When we first arrived at the site, the area looked like a mess of old materials, uneven ground, and areas that looked like they had seen better days. The area wasn’t being effectively utilized, and the water drainage situation wasn’t great either.
We first cleared the area completely by removing the old materials, clearing the site of any debris, and digging the area to the correct levels. This is one of the first and most vital stages of the patio installation process.
Project Details
1. Ground Preparation & Sub-Base
Once cleared, we then laid a new sub-base using MOT type 1 material, compacting it as we went along for a strong and stable base. The levels were set for effective water runoff away from the property.
As you can see from this process, we have designed this area to give a natural flow from the house out into the garden, keeping it neat and practical.
2. Laying the Porcelain Slabs
After that came the transformation stage – laying these sleek grey porcelain slabs.
Each of these porcelain slabs had to be placed on a full mortar bed to ensure strength and longevity. Cuts had to be made neatly to edges and access points to ensure everything remains sharp.
Porcelain works well for a patio like this because it’s tough, requires minimal upkeep, and provides a clean finish.
3. The Finished Result
The final result speaks for itself. What was a messy and unused space is now a fashionable and functional patio that blends in perfectly with the property.
Not only does the new layout allow for a seamless transition from house to garden, it provides plenty of space for furniture and general use of this space on a sunny day.
